EPIC team supports School Behavioral Health Professionals (SBHP's) by:

• 1. Providing professional development and coordinating training sessions with community providers.

• 1. Keeping SBHPs abreast of legislative & policy changes.

• 1. Promoting prevention strategies, curricula and training to support the behavioral and mental health of all students.

• Providing monthly small group sessions to provide training, updates, guidance, support and case consultation.

• 1. On call daily to respond to SBHPs requests for guidance.

  2. Providing on-site school support, coaching and problem-solving with the SBHP and the Mental Health Team.

1. SBHP’s support our schools in the following ways:

• 1. Provide core behavioral and mental health presentations and school-wide initiatives.

• Provide supplemental services with small groups and check-ins with students.

• 1. Provide intensive, 1:1 services, until the Mental Health Team decides that a student needs more, such as a referral to a co-located or community mental health provider. 

• 1. Is a member of the Mental Health Team. Serve on the Threat Assessment Team if licensed or holds a school counselor certification.

• 1. Serve as another set of eyes and ears on campus to identify students who may need support but are “under the radar”.
