VARK ASESSMENT

Many of my learners are not using my handouts. I would try to improve them by

• adding more interesting visual material using different layouts and formats.

• rewriting some of the text to make it more interesting.

• deleting YouTube references that May contain helpful dialogue

• ignoring text that relates to their experiences, interests and needs.

In my introductory lesson, my learners need to know the structure and content of my course or subject. I would use:

• examples of the topics and what the learners will need to do to succeed.

• just pass out the syllabus without going over it.

• send an email

• don't create anything..

My learners need to know there is a procedure for transitioning in between our daily lesson. To help them remember, I would use a

• bell

• visual timer

• blow horn

• verbal signal/chant

A strategy to enhance student engagement is to:

• Assign lengthy homework every night.

• Use a variety of teaching methods and materials.

• Keep the focus on the teacher as the sole source of information.

• Discourage questions to maintain the flow of the lesson.

To increase student engagement, teachers should:

• Avoid using digital tools as they can be distracting.

• Encourage passive listening to improve concentration.

• Make learning interactive and collaborative.

• Focus solely on textbook learning.

Lan has spent a week planning an activity for her two- and three- year old learners. The children do not seem engaged in the activity and some have become taciturn or bored. What should Lan do?

• Continue with the activity.

• Dismiss the discontented students from the group to another activity.

• Alter the activity to meet the needs of the students.

• Send the discontented to the time-out area
