(pg. 234) Peak finds a note left by Zopa that says "Peak, I left camp four yesterday. All is well. I will see you on the road. -Zopa"

Why did the note "freak Peak out" ?

• it means Zopa somehow KNEW Peak wasn't going to finish the climb and he would come back down the same side he went up

• Zopa took an oath as a monk to not write notes

• Peak thought Zopa was dead

• The handwriting looked identical to Captain Shek's and the note might be fake. He is scared Zopa might be in prison

(pg. 236) When Peak sees Josh again, what does he tell him?

• he tells him he made it to the top

• he tells him he let Sun-jo make it to the top because it would change his life

• he lies and says he didn't make it to the top because he was too tired
