PAST PERFECT

We use the PAST PERFECT (HAD + past Participle) to talk about an action.

• that happened BEFORE another action in the past

• that happened AFTER another action in the past

• the happened IN THE PAST

We use the PAST PERFECT to indicate which action HAPPENED FISRT (1st):

"I ran to the airport but the plane had left some minutes before"
