What is communicative competence?

• The ability to compete in a UIL speech event.

What is linguistic?

• knowing how to use the basic skills of language such as vocabulary and sentence structure

•  knowing how to communicate effectively with someone in writing and speaking

• knowing how to put one’s thoughts  together through indicators; connectors in a conversation
