A student needs help with getting rid of a dead battery.

• It is recyclable. So because we do single stream recycling toss it in the recycling bin.

• Can't recycle it. Can't throw it in the trash. Carry it with you forever.

• Collect batteries in a secure container and let the RT Coordinator know when they build up.

A student wants to get rid of a new shirt that just doesn't fit them. What is the best advice you can give.

• We don't take clothes. Leave and never return.

• Donate it to Oz Thrift at the end of the semester. Or Thrifty Shopper in town.

• Clothes are actually mostly plastic these days and they can be recycled.

• Burn it.

• The elder god we keep dormant by feeding it waste, else it will rise from below the lake devastating the ecosystem.

My room-mate moved out and left this half eaten sandwich what should I do with it?

• Throw it in the trash.

• Feed it to the geese.

• Compost it in the PLL Compost Tumbler

• Recycle it.

You cannot figure out if a specific item is recyclable or not. Which of these options should you avoid?

• Recycle it, it seems like its just plastic.

• Check The Oneida-Herkimer Transfer Station Website.

• Call the Office of Sustainability.

• Refer to the RT Binder.

While mobile cart recycling a student says they have a busted monitor, hands it to you, and closes their door before you can ask any questions.

• Contact the Office of Sustainability, Environmental Health & Safety, or Penfield Library for the appropriate next steps

• Knock on the door and hand it back to them.

• Throw it in a dumpster.

• Dismantle it and recycle the relevant separate parts. This is educational, fun, and a good use of my time!

There's someone shady hanging around alone in the basement of your building, you don't think they work here or are a student. What are you expected to do?

• Tackle them and hold them till help arrives.

• Its just one of o'ontaar(the dormant god under the lake)'s emissaries here to collect the necessary waste to keep it submerged.

• Call the Sustainability Office and tell them you've got crazy news for the next rt meeting.

• Call your buildings RAs and or Hall Directors to describe the incident.

A student brings down a massive pack of unopened instant noodles saying they don't like the flavor but their parents left a ton of it with them. They want advice on what to do with them without throwing them away.

• Feed it to the Geese.

• Tell them the only option is to trash it.

• Donate it to SHOP. They accept packaged food year round.

• Resell it to every student that comes into the recycling room to make extra cash

Someone's got a bin full of the paper hot coffee cups from Starbuck's. They need guidance on whether they can be recycled or not. What should you do?

• Cave under the pressure and run away.

• Tell them that the cups aren't recyclable due to the wax/plastic lining and to toss them in the trash.

• Tell them they can be recycled if they are paper.

• Shame them for not using their own cup and call them a disappointment.
