Belt Sander Safety

When sanding you should try to distribute the heat and friction caused by the sanding process by: 

• pressing the wood against the sand paper with moderate pressure while moving the wood back and forth to spread the heat and friction across a larger area of the sandpaper

• pressing hard against the sand paper so that you can complete the sanding as quick as possible

• you do not need to be concerned about the heat and friction if you have used the saw correctly because the surface of the wood will already be smooth.

• the heat and friction will only be a problem after 2 minutes of constant sanding
