What does putting forth your best effort mean

• Doing quality work, not just trying to hurry and finish

• Being the first done in class

• Making the effort to learn, not just get a good grade

• Getting my work done, even it means copying

• Making sure I always do my personal best

How can you disrespect yourself, teacher, and others

• Hide other peoples chromebooks

• Clean up your own messes

• Use appropriate language

• Wear inappropriate clothing

• Break items in the classroom because of horseplay

What should I do when I'm supposed to follow directions?

• Listen the first time so I can hear the directions

• Talk while the teacher is explaining

• Wait until the teacher begins to ask what to do again

• Ask questions to clarify before we begin

• Sit in my seat because I have no clue what to do

How do I become engaged with the class?

• Ask questions!

• Sit at my desk quietly while I read or draw all period

• Participate in class conversations

• Just do my work and shut up

• Always try to learn!

How can someone damage a learning environment?

• Coming in tardy

• Talking while the teacher is talking

• Tapping a foot, pencil, or other object even when the teacher aske you to stop

• Packing up before the teacher says to do so

• Making fun of students trying to read or present

How can I take responsibility for my own actions?

• I broke the rules, I understand the consequences

• I don't try to blame someone else for my bad decisions

• I read the student handbook so I know the rules

• Owning up to what I have done, good or bad

• Lying about something I did but only confessed because I was caught

How should I handle my grade?

• Complain the teacher hates me

• Look up my grade on aeries regularly

• Wait until grades are due to check my grades

• Look at my missing assignments on google classroom

• Talk to the teacher NOT during class time if you have questions or concerns
