Types of muscles:

These muscles are made of skeletal muscle tissues and are attached to the tendons and bones in the body.

Types of muscles:

Found in the walls of various organs of the body, around hollow organs of the body like the stomach, intestine, airways, bladder, lungs, etc. They contract in all directions to allow smoother constriction (narrowing) and dilation (widening) of the organs.

Types of muscles:

These muscles are located in the heart and are composed of cardiac muscle tissues. Connected to each other instead of separate like the skeletal muscles.

• Fibres are striated, tubular and multi nucleated

• Usually attached to skeleton

• Usually covering wall of internal organs

• Voluntary

• Fibres are nonstriated, spindle-shaped and uninucleated

Main features of cardiac muscle:

• Involuntary

• Fibres are nonstriated, spindle-shaped and uninucleated

• Only covering walls of the heart

• Fibres are striated, branched and uninucleated
