Tech Expectations

I need to do research for an academic project I am doing.

I need to do research for an academic project and I can't find what I need on Kiddle. I need more research.

• Ask a teacher to supervise a search on Google or another website

• Search on YouTube instead

• Wait and do the research at home instead

There's a really important soccer game happening right now and I want to look up the score.

• Look it up super quick and get straight back to work.

• Wait until snack or choice time to look it up.

• This is not allowed (but ask a teacher at a good time and we may look it up for you)

It's tech choice time and I want to play a game I know was allowed last year.

• Check if it is linked on Bertschi bookmarks or Google Classroom.

• Go ahead and play.

• Check with last year's teacher.

• Ask the tech team.

It's choice time and I want to use Garageband or Photobooth.

• Garageband is allowed, but Photobooth isn't

• This is not allowed

• Go ahead! These items are pre-approved for choice time.

My classmate and I shared a writing assignment to do peer edits. My classmate just commented on my doc, "aildsfkja;idjfieajiejriaj;fja;⭐️!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

• Comment back something similar.

• Comment back, "stop doing that, it isn't allowed"

• Let a teacher know right away.

• Delete the comment

I finished the current assignment and I want to use Typing Club.

• Typing Club is not allowed.

• Check if there is an "if finished" list and if not ask a teacher.

• Go ahead, Typing Club is approved.

• See if any other students are using Typing Club.

It's after school and a friend and I are using a Google Doc on our Bertschi accounts to talk. The friend comments something unkind about another student.

• Remove yourself from the Doc and log off.

• Respond and agree with them.

• Respond and tell them it's wrong to say that.

• Tell an adult at home.

It's math group time and the teacher has asked us to work on IXL.

• Look to see what sections of IXL are assigned.

• Select pre-k math.

• Select any game that is in the 5th grade section.

• Log on to the same section I see other students using.

I want to listen to some music while I work because it helps me concentrate.

• You can select any music, as long as it is school appropriate.

• This is not allowed.

• Select only music that is listed under "Bertschi Bookmarks."

• Select any music as long as you have headphones on.
