Al An'am 37 - 41

A group of Christians don't believe in the law of Trinity. They believe that there is one God. They believe that Jesus was not born on December 25th, hence, they don't celebrate Christmas or any other Pegan festivals but still don't accept the message of the Quran and Prophet PBUH is the last Prophet. How is this similar to the Pegan Arab leaders?

• They all enjoy hanging out with each other and celebrate each others festivals in the name of inclusion

• A lot of their customs and traditions are inspired by each other

• They knew the truth and wanted to accept Islam but died before they could

• They also knew the true message but didn't accept because of their stubbornness

What does it mean that "All living beings, on the surface or crawling deep down, swimming inside the water or flying in the sky, are created just like human beings"?

• Life, death, rizq [sustenance], physical needs, their communities or dependence on Allah are just like human beings. Allah has created us and them.

• They have the same intellect, consciousness for self and others, desire and dreams are same as human beings

What is Al Lawh Al Mahfuz?

• A collection of Hadith by different narrators

• (The Preserved Tablet), in which Allah has written the destiny of His entire creation. It has a record of every action, utterance, thought and movement (or lack of) within creation, from the moment the Pen began writing till the Last Hour

All creatures (human beings, Jinns, animals) will all be gathered on the Day of Judgment, and will settle the scores between them, even the hornless animal with the horned one, and even one ant with another.

Who are called deaf, dumb, and lost (blinded) in the darkness by Allah SWT?

• The ones who reject the Ayahs of Allah due to their ignorance and little knowledge

• The ones who are born with disabilities and mental illnesses

• The hypocrites who used to sit in the gathering of Muslims and would mock them

How can a person find guidance if guidance is in Allah's hands, Allah leaves whoever He wills to stray and guides whoever He wills to the straight path?

• Guidance is a blessing that is earned just like any other worldly blessing such as a good career, righteous spouse, etc.

• People who strive to seek the truth are guided and deniers of the Ayahs remain astray

• Both of the above

If we get in trouble or any type of difficulty, even if we are negligent in our prayers, the first thing we do is to pray and ask Allah for help to bring us out of distress. But the moment we are out of difficulty, we carelessly get back to our old ways. Similarly, what did the Pegans used to do that is similar to this situation?

• When they went through any difficulty they would ask Allah for help and the moment they were out they would again go to their old ways of disobedience to Allah SWT

• Their call to Allah for help is a big indication that in their hearts they knew that Allah is in power and only He can remove their afflictions but due to stubbornness didn't accept the true message

Ikramah ibn Abi Jahl, the son of the fiercest opponents of Islam killed a man erroneously. As a punishment, he was to be killed. He decided to escape to Ethiopia. On the way, his ship was caught by a storm. The crew of the ship said: 'Turn sincerely toward Allah, for your (false) gods cannot help you at all in this situation.' 'Ikrimah said: 'By Allah, if nothing came to save me at sea except sincerity toward Allah then nothing else will save me on land. O Allah, I promise You that if You save me from this predicament I will go to Muhammad [SAW] and put my hand in his. He came out safely, accepted Islam and strove for Islam making up for the wrong that he had done as a disbeliever. What lesson do we learn from this incident?

• Allah SWT responds to the disbeliever only if He knows (through the knowledge of the unseen) that the person won't change his mind after coming out from distress. Ikramah RA was true in his promise that's why Allah grant fulfillment to his supplication (du’a)

• Allah SWT responds to the one who is inflicted even if it’s a disbeliever as we learn from the story of Ikramah RA. Allah's mercy proceeds His anger. All it requires is confidence and faith while making du’a.

Allah SWT knew that if the Pegan leaders were to show a sign, a miracle, or an Ayah of their liking they still won't believe it, which will hasten their punishment like the previous nations. What other aspect of Allah's SWT attribute we see here that He gives them chances one after another until they will be gathered for a tremendous punishment on the Day of Judgement?

• The Provider (Ar-Razzaq), He gives and not in need of Himself

• The Most Generous (Al Kareem), He makes man, who is wretched poor and needy, a well known man

• The all Capable (Al Qadir), the most Powerful with the ability to measure out everything

• The Merciful (Ar-Raheem), Hie mercy encompasses all things

Why is it that a person consciously or sub-consciously denies the Hereafter?

• Because he/she is not prepared for their accountability and if they did, the would live within certain boundaries and be conscious of Allah

• They get busy fulfilling their responsibilities and enjoy in the world, which are more important than the Hereafter

• Muslim Ummah will have the privilege to be questioned first on the Day of Judgment. It means they are special and will be sent to Jannah without account
