The Edmontosaurus was one of the most common dinosaurs found throughout America.  It walked on two legs, but it could also walk on all fours.  Its mouth had hundreds of small teeth, however, not the front of the jaws - there was a beak. Edmontosaurus was named in 1917 when two skeletons were found with skin. They were 12 feet tall, 42 feet long, and weighed 7,500 pounds. It lived about 65 to 75 million years ago. It ate plants because bits of trees have been found in its stomach. The Edmontosaurus was big, probably too big for smaller predators, but not so for the T-Rex. Paleontologists believe that Edmontosaurus lived in herds. They felt there was safety in numbers. However, they were small and had no weaponry.  This made them easy prey for a T-Rex.
