Appropriate Use of Phones & Safety

Someone messages you on snapchat. You don't know this person, but they look really good in their picture. They say, "Hey. I want to take you on a date. What's your address?" Choose the appropriate response:

• Tell them your address, and tell them they look really good in their picture.

• Don't answer the message. Block them immediately!

Someone posts on facebook, "I hate puppies." Choose the appropriate response:

• Don't respond. It's not worth it to get in an online fight.

• Respond and get into an online fight with this person.

What's the rule about posting online?

• If you wouldn't want your grandma to see it, don't post it! Posting negative things can keep me from getting a job, and I might lose friends because of negative posts.

• If you wouldn't want your dog to see it, don't post it!

Why should I never share my personal information online or with strangers?

• I could get hurt by dangerous people.

• People could steal my money.

We shouldn't text people every day or even every week unless they are our parents or siblings because:

• They could become annoyed with us

• They could block us from texting them again

• They are probably busy
