A two lane rural road is marked with

Do not cross to pass a vehicle when there are

The only time a vehicle should enter the center lane is at a point where the vehicle

If you see these double yellow lines, you

• may pass another vehicle with caution.

• may not pass another vehicle.

If there are broken lines on one side and a solid line on the other, only vehicles on the side with the (a)   lines may pass a slower vehicle in their lane.

Single solid white lines

• indicate shoulder and pavement edges

• should avoid being crossed unless necessary.

Double solid white lines

• No lane changes allowed.
• Overtaking is allowed at any time.
• Only left turns permitted.
• Lane changes allowed with caution.
