Kit realizes that Marcia is actually very good in the play. What makes Kit realize this?

• Everyone else was talking about Marcia, so Kit assumed they were right. She also heard Marcia bragging about being the best actress in the play.

• Kit watched Marcia and noticed how believable she was when she acted out the part of Frankie. She seemed to become the character of Frankie by the way she spoke, moved, and stood.

• Mrs. Fenton told Kit that she was happy that she had chosen Marcia for the lead in the play because Marcia was a much better actress than Kit.

• Marcia was asked to be in a community play because she was such a good actress.

One of the props needed for the play is a 'palmetto fan.' What is a palmetto fan?
