Biography of General Sudirman

General Sudirman was born on January 24, 1916, in Purbalingga, Central Java, Indonesia. Despite his humble beginnings, he grew up to become a significant figure in Indonesia's struggle for independence. He was deeply influenced by his Islamic faith and his education at Muhammadiyah schools.

At just 29 years old, he was appointed as the first Commander-in-Chief of the TNI. His leadership during the independence war against the Dutch earned him widespread respect.
