What should you bring to class each day in order to be ready?

• A charged device

• A positive attitude

• Something to write with (pencil or blue/black pen ONLY)

• A notebook or section in my notebook that is dedicated to ELA ONLY

What should you be doing when the tardy bell rings?

• Walking around the room, & greeting other classmates.

• Sharpening your pencil

• In your seat, quiet, and working on the Do Now

• Just walking into the room happy that you made it on time

How should students respond to directions given by the teacher?

• Ignore them

• Follow them the first time they are given

• Follow them only if they agree

• Follow them after asking questions

What should students do before speaking in class?

• Shout out the answer

• Raise their hand and wait to be acknowledged

• Speak whenever they want

• Wait until the end of class

When are students allowed to leave their seat?

• Whenever they feel like it

• When the teacher is not looking

• Only with permission

• At the end of the class

What should you do once you enter the classroom?

• Ask to use the restroom

• Read & follow any directions on the board then go to your assigned seat.

• Use this time to catch up with your friends about their day

• Ignore the board and sit anywhere.

What is the rule about leaving the classroom once you have entered?

• You can leave anytime you want.

• You cannot leave without permission.

• You must leave immediately.

• You can leave after 10 minutes.

What is the first activity you should do after sitting in your assigned seat?

• Start a conversation with your neighbor.

• Sharpen pencils and begin the day's opening activity.

• Take a nap.

• Read a book.

What is the most important attitude to have for learning?

• Ready to be engaged

• Ready to be entertained

• Ready to be distracted
