Emergency plan: 10 steps

Now, straighten your seat back, fasten your seatbelt, lock your service table and keep the windows opened.

At this moment, remove the life vest under your seat and put it on as the flight attendants are demonstrating. Inflate it until you leave the airplane by pulling down the red tabs or blowing into the tubes on either side.

Your attention ladies and gentlemen, the captain has informed us that due to a mechanical failure we will have to land at _______ airport in 10 minutes. The crew has been trained to handle this situation, pay attention and follow our instructions.

Remove all objects such as jewelry, ties, scarves and place them in the seat pocket in front of you. If you use glasses, take them with you. Passengers with food on the service table, place it under the seat in front of you.

You and you, come with me. If I am handicapped to open this door, when the airplane stops with engines turned off,  lift the handle and open the door; if the slide doesn’t inflate, pull the red tab, jump, slide and offer help.

The flight attendants are demonstrating the safety position that you will have to adopt in a few minutes. Grab your ankles with head down. If you are unable to do this, grab the seat back in front of you with head down.

If there are airline or military personnel on board, contact the flight attendant now; if not, when the airplane stops with engines turned off, passengers seated next to an emergency exit, remove acrylic, pull the red handle, throw away the window and get out.

Read the safety procedure card placed in the seat pocket in front of you, when you hear evacuate, release seat belt and get out.
