Understanding the Engineering Design Process

To create a detailed budget

To develop a solution to a problem

To conduct market research

To write a technical report

To ensure the solution is the most cost-effective

To determine if the solution meets the design criteria and constraints

To finalize the project budget

To create a marketing strategy

By reducing the number of team members

By allowing continuous refinement and enhancement of the design

By eliminating the need for testing

By increasing the project cost

Testing the prototype

Defining the problem

Building a model

Evaluating solutions

It is a linear process with no feedback loops

It involves repeating steps to refine and improve the design

It requires only one prototype

It is completed in a single phase

Brainstorming

Prototyping and testing

Sketching ideas

Conducting interviews

It limits creativity and innovation

It helps focus the design efforts on feasible solutions

It increases the complexity of the project

It eliminates the need for testing

Mind mapping

Brainstorming solutions

Testing the prototype

Evaluating the final product
