Set the meter for the highest range provided for AC Volts. Insert the black probe in the "COM" or "-" jack. Next, insert the red probe in the "V" or "+" jack. Locate the voltage scales. Press the black probe into one of the straight slots. Insert the red probe into the other straight slot. Remove the probes. Reinsert the probes as previously.
