Step 1) Click "Lab."

Step 2) Build a circuit with 1 battery and 1 light bulb.

Step 2) To the right, you'll see an ammeter with an extension.

Drag it over and set it up.

What is the reading on the ammeter?

Step 4) Add a second battery.

What is the reading on the ammeter?

When you added voltage (battery) to the circuit what happened to the current?

• It increased.

• It decreased.

Step 5) Add a second light bulb exactly as shown in the picture.

This is a Series Circuit.

When you added resistance (a light bulb) what happened to the current?

Step 6) Clear off the board by clicking the "reset button" in the bottom right.

Step 7) Build a circuit exactly as show in the picture with
1 battery and 1 light bulb.

Step 8) Add a second light bulb as a PARALLEL circuit.

Do this by taking 2 wires from one light bulb to the next.
