• Yes, they are both able to keep the memory at the same time because they are special and have a lot of power, so they can do what they want.

• No, everyone in the Community has one-generation memories except for The Receiver. Once the Giver transmits his memories of the world, he will only have the memories of his own lifetime left.

Why did the Community get rid of colors?

• It was an unexpected error in some of the genetic experiments they did when they originally created the Community

• They thought only the wisest and kindest people should get to see real colors--they had to earn it
