He did not trust him anymore.

He relied on him for extra money.

He began treating him like a man.

He became jealous of his relationship with grandpa.

He was frustrated with their mistakes.

He was angry that they were worthless hunting hounds.

He wanted to give them "tough love" and force them to learn for themselves.

He realized that he wasn't ready to own hunting hounds yet.

They treed the raccoon on the biggest tree in the area.

They were making too much noise and Billy couldn't take it.

The raccoon was wounded and couldn't come out of the tree.

The sun was almost up and Billy had to head home.
