What is sensory language?

Language that writer's use to appeal to our senses

Language that authors use to "unlock" certain memories

The darkness was oppressive, and after lying for some time gathering up courage, he took the box of matches, and striking one, went downstairs for a candle. To give you a visual image about where she is at, and to let you know of her surroundings.

To let you know she is in a field of daisies.

Because she didn't have anything else to put in the poem.

Why do authors use sensory language?

It is a way for a writer to help the reader see or connect with their story

All stories must have sensory language or they become poems.
