Which of the following best summarizes the story?
Selena wanted to sing Tejano music, but she didn't know Spanish. Much Tejano music was in Spanish, so Selena learned how to say Spanish words, even though she didn't know what they meant. Her great talent and positive attitude won her many fans. Gradually, Selena learned to speak Spanish so she could understand her fans and the words to her songs.
Selena was a terrific singer who became very famous singing Tejano music. It wasn't easy, but her father helped her. At the height of her career, she had many fans in both Mexico and Texas. She was known as the "Queen of Tejano."
Tejano is a popular music in Texas and Mexico. Sometimes called "Tex-Mex," this music often uses a blend of Spanish and English words. The music itself has a beat similar to a polka song and frequently makes use of an accordian. One famous Tejano singer was Selena Quintanilla-Perez.
Selena Quintanilla-Perez faced a great challenge in fulfilling her dream. With hard work and the support of important people in her life, she overcame this challenge and went on to be very happy.
