What does the R in SMART stand for?

• Responsible -a goal must allow you to take charge.

• Relevant - a goal must be something that is important to YOU

• Respectful - a goal must allow you to be kind and polite.

• Repeatable - you must be able to do the goal over and over again.

Do you know what you will be doing in 25 years?  I do!  I want to be a writer, a ballerina, an inventor, a social worker, and mayor of New York City.  My future is no great mystery to me, and yours doesn’t have to be a mystery either!  All it takes is a goal, a little planning, and a lot of self-confidence.

Why is it important that your goals have deadlines?

• You need details.

• So you can tell if you have accomplished it or not.

• So you know what you are trying to accomplish.

• So you will actually work towards achieving it in a timely manner.

Why is goal setting important for EVERYONE?

• It's inspiring to work towards things important to you.

• To help you succeed in life.

• To help your life stay on the track you want it to go.
