OPEN ENDED QUESTION

1 min • 1 pt

Did I support my thesis statement through the body of my essay, drawing from specific examples and incorporating quotes from "Animal Farm?" For example: The author successfully uses diction to create a sarcastic tone at the end of the novel. In the end of the novel, (Chapters 8-10), the animals have trouble remembering if times are better now or before. The pigs, who now control every aspect of the farm, have taken to living like humans. They begin wearing clothes and walking on two legs. At the end, some local farmers visit the farm to see how things are running. The pigs entertain them while the other animals look inside the windows in the farmhouse. Orwell repeatedly uses diction to create a tone of sarcasm in reference to the humans who visit the farm.  On pg. 103, it says “They worked diligently hardly raising their faces from the ground, and not knowing whether to be more frightened of the pigs or of the human visitors.”
