You have just read a story about Pam and Justin wanting to play outside in the snow.  Justin can't find his warm wool hat and his mom says he must have it in order to play.  You are to write a story from Justin's perspective on finding his winter hat. Be sure to include a beginning that hooks the reader’s attention; vivid details and feelings that engage the reader; characters, actions, and dialogue that enhance the plot; and an ending that satisfies the reader. Use supporting details from the passage.

Saving Money
In order to save money, your principal is thinking about canceling all field trips for the remainder of the year. Write an essay explaining your beliefs that students should be allowed to continue attending field trips. Use specific reasons and examples of evidence to support your response.
