Why was The Constitution written?

• To establish a national holiday

• It is the oldest law in the country.

• It sets the rules that everyone, including the president, must follow.

Why does The Constitution begin with the words, "We the people..."?

• To show that it was written by the king

• To show that the government is created for the people and by the people

• To start a list of names of the Founding Fathers

• To say that only the people in charge matter

What is the purpose of the first 10 amendments, called "The Bill of Rights?"
