I could be resolved by words most of the time, but many times, it would start with it.
It can either bring people close together or tear them apart.
 What am I?

When someone is speaking, I am what you should do.
If I am not there, arguments increase, but with me confusion cease.
What am I?

I can show whether you're angry, or upset or peaceful; I make no noise or use no words.
I am often ignored in the heat of an argument.
