• Three phases, 230VAC, 400Hz constant frequency.

The SGCU (Starter Generator Control Unit) manages: (level 2)

• The regulation and protection for the Generate mode of the APU SG (Auxiliary Power Unit Starter Generator),
• The regulation and protection for the Generate mode of the air starter and generator,
• Both answer are correct

What are functions of SGCU (Starter Generator Control Unit)? (level 2)

• It supplies power to Electrical network.
• It manages the regulation and protection APU Starter Generator in Generate mode.
• It sends command to ECB to control APU.

Maximum continuous power of VFG (Variable Frequency Generator) is: (level 3)

• 90 kVA,
• 100 kVA,
• 150 kVA.

Properties of the VFGs (Variable Frequency Generators) are: (level 3)

• Three phases, 230VAC, 400Hz constant frequency.
• Three phases, 230VAC, frequency range from 360Hz and 800Hz depending on the N3 rotor speed.
• Three phases, 115VAC, frequency range from 360Hz and 800Hz depending on the N3 rotor speed.

On ELEC panel the DRIVE P/BSW controls: (level 2)

• The thermal disconnection of the VFG (Variable Frequency Generator).
• The exciter generator cut off.
• The mechanical disconnection of the VFG (Variable Frequency Generator).

The FAULT legend of the DRIVE P/BSW comes on when: (level 2)

• The VFG (Variable Frequency Generator) is mechanically defective.
• The VFG (Variable Frequency Generator) is electrically defective.
• The VFG (Variable Frequency Generator) is electrically or mechanically defective.

In case of VFG (Variable Frequency Generator) is mechanically disconnect from engine accessory gearbox and If the troubleshooting is satisfactory: (level 3)

• These VFG must be replaced by the new one.
• These VFG can re-connect to the gearbox with the related reset pushbutton on the ELEC panel.
• These VFG can re-connect to the gearbox with the related reset handle.

After the VFG (Variable Frequency Generator) has an automatic thermal-disconnection: (level 3)

• It is necessary to remove the defective VFG.
• The VFG can be reconnect to the gearbox with the related reset pushbutton on the ELEC panel
• If the troubleshooting is satisfactory, the VFG can be reconnect to the gearbox with the related reset handle.
