The hot African sun rises on an amazing sight. Giraffes, zebras, elephants, and animals of all kinds are at Pride Rock. This is an important day. King Mufasa and Queen Sarabi present their newborn son to the kingdom. The animals cheer and bow before the prince, Simba. He grows into a playful and curious cub. He knows he must never cross the border, but one day, he and his friends Zazu and Nala forget about this rule. The hyenas attack them, but Mufasa arrives just in time to save them. On the way home, Mufasa tells his son:

“Never do that again.”

“I want to be brave like you, Dad,” Simba says softly.

“Being brave doesn’t mean you go looking for trouble.”
