What is a piece of writing, speech, or another form of communication that presents a debatable claim supported with reasons and evidence?

What is a response to what others might say if they challenge or quesiton your argument?

Why do we use arguments?

• Influence people's opinions

What is a debatable claim?

• the claim is always true

• there are other reasonable and opposing viewpoints

• all answers to the claim are the same meaning

What are the 3 components of an argument?

Why should we address objections / counterarguments?

• Because we are always right
