She really cared for her girl and asked him to come back two years later. However, after two years, the widow sent Timun Emas to Gunung Kidul (Southern Mountain) to meet a powerful hermit. The hermit ger four small packages contained cucumber seeds, needles, salt, and terasi (shrimp paste). One morning, when the giant came, the widow ordered Timun Emas to run through the back door. When the giant was chasing her, she dispersed the cucumber seeds from the package and suddenly they became cucumber field. He stopped chasing her to eat the cucumber. When he started chasing again, Timun Emas threw away needles which became bamboo field. Bamboos, then wounded the giant's feet. Then, she dispersed the salt, which then became a sea. Finally, she dispersed the terasi from the package. Suddenly, there appeared a boiling sea of mud which swallowed the giant until death. After his death, Timun Emas could live happily with her mother. What can we learn from the story?
