Definition of Civilization based on Al-Attas:

• Considered civilisation

  as a quality peculiar to man. This means that human beings have to dwell and settle together in cities

• Tamaddun from the Islamic perspective has the element of Dīn embedded in it. If a civilisation is not founded upon the spirit of Islam, then such a civilisation is not an Islamic civilisation

• An advanced state of human society, in which a high level of culture,

  science industry, & government has been reached.

• A society, its culture, & its way of life during a particular period of time

  or in a particular part of the world.

Why Tawhid is a main factor on rises civilization?

• To prevent the human mind from seeking worldly interest,

• Effective way to protect society from destruction

• To protect from great ignorance.

• To have a life balance

Evidence of the cultivation of knowledge during the reign of the Abbasiyyin can be seen in the existence of _______
