develops from cells in the skin's epidermis; more common in people with light-colored skin and who have had excessive exposure to sunlight

progresses slowly and rarely spreads to other body parts; derived from cells of the stratum basale; appearance may be waxy, smooth, red, pale, flat, or lumpy, and may or may not bleed.

Not as common but is more likely to spread to surrounding tissues; arises from flat cells in the stratum corneum; appears on the face, lips, ears, and the backs of the hands; signs and symptoms are the same as basal cell carcinoma

Cancer that arises from melanocytes; most AGRESSIVE of skin cancers; fastest growing; can be anywhere; most often appears on the trunk, head, and neck in males and on the upper and lower limbs in females; a mole that itches or bleeds; ABCDE rule; has 5 stages

Inflammatory condition of the skin follicles and sebaceous glands; Comedos (blackheads and whiteheads), papules, pustules; mainly occurs on the face, but can also occur on the neck, back, and chest.

Disorder that specifically targets hair and results in hair loss; loss or lack of hair on the scalp or other areas of the body is a sign; also called baldness

Inflammation of connective tissue in skin and primarily occurs on the face and legs; skin appears red and tight and is often painful; inflammation may trigger a fever;

One type of chronic dermatitis

Inflammation of skin or a rash; red, scaly, and itchy

Sometimes called "swimmers rash"; inflammation of the hair follicles; follicles become red and itchy and often look like pimples; usually results from shaving or excess rubbing of skin areas.
