Mrs. Turner's Classroom Procedures and Expectations

The bell has rung and you are not yet in class. You are tardy when:

• The door closes.

When you come to this class, you should:

• Run as fast as you can through the high school hallways.

• Cut through the library to avoid being marked tardy.

• Walk quietly through the high school, to OUR entrance, and walk into class.

The best time to take care of personal needs, i.e., borrow/sharpen a pencil, get tissue, use hand sanitizer, or turn in an assignment, is:

• At the beginning of class, during bell ringer time BEFORE I start teaching; or during independent or group work time

• While I am teaching or leading a discussion.

• It is always okay to get out of your seat to get what you need because your needs are important too.

  
  

When turning in a paper assignment, you should:

• Place it neatly in your class period tray located in the turn in station.

• Hand it directly to me to make sure it does not get lost.

• Toss it on the table in the back corner of the room.

If you borrow a pencil, you should leave your id in the pencil pouch.

Class has started, and I am taking attendance. You need to go to the nurse, but it's not an emergency. You should:

• Fill out a nurse request slip and place it on my rolling desk.

• Stand by my desk, wait quietly for me to finish attendance, and then ask to go to the nurse.
