Main goal of Spanish Level 1

• To help students build a foundational understanding of the language, learning basic communication for everyday situations.

• To prepare students for advanced literature studies in Spanish.

• To teach students about Spanish history and culture exclusively.

• To focus on Spanish grammar rules without practical communication.

Cell phone/technology use policy

• Immediate confiscation of the phone followed by parent/guardian's contact to pick up the device.

• Verbal warning followed by a written notice.

• Confiscation of the phone for a week without parental contact.

• Temporary suspension from school activities.

Assignments & Grading policy

• All daily assignments must be completed by the due date. Late submissions incur a 5% deduction per day.

• Late submissions are accepted without penalty.

• Assignments can be submitted at any time without a grade penalty.

• Only weekly assignments are graded.

Final Exam weight

• 10% of the grade, conducted at the beginning of the school year.

• 20% of the grade, conducted at the end of the school year.

• 30% of the grade, conducted at the midterm of the school year.

• 50% of the grade, conducted at the end of the semester.

Rule #2

• No restroom passes during the first and last 15 minutes of class. Students must complete a digital Smart Pass during permitted times.

• Restroom passes are allowed at any time during class.

• Students can leave the class for restroom breaks without any restrictions.

• Restroom passes can be obtained from the teacher at any time.

Required materials for class

• A charged computer, a notebook, a folder, and a writing utensil (pen/pencil). The Auténtico Guided Workbook will be provided by the teacher.

• A textbook, a calculator, a laptop, and a set of colored pencils.

• A tablet, a sketchbook, a binder, and a highlighter.

• A desktop computer, a planner, a file, and a marker.

Rule #3

• Getting out of their seats without permission

• Studying quietly at their desks

• Listening attentively to the teacher

• Taking notes during the lecture

Rule #5

• Cheating/plagiarism/academic dishonesty will result in disciplinary action.

• Students are encouraged to collaborate on all assignments.

• All forms of academic work must be submitted anonymously.

• Late submissions will not be accepted under any circumstances.

Rule #6

• Students agree to take care of classroom items and supplies.

• Students are allowed to use their phones during class.

• Students must complete homework assignments on time.

• Students should bring snacks to class.
