Lily loved flying her new, bright red kite. She ran through the grassy park, the wind catching the kite and pulling it higher and higher. Suddenly, a strong gust of wind yanked the string from her hand! Lily watched in dismay as her kite soared away, disappearing over the tall trees. Tears welled in her eyes. Just then, a kind old man walking his dog saw her. "What's wrong, little one?" he asked. Lily explained about her lost kite. The man smiled. "Don't worry," he said, "Let's see if we can find it." They walked to the edge of the park and, sure enough, there it was, tangled in a low branch of a big oak tree. The old man carefully reached up and freed the kite for her. Lily thanked him with a huge smile, and he waved goodbye as she ran off, her red kite held tightly in her hand.
