The Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) controls which of the following functions:

The A/THR is armed on the ground provided at least one FD is on by:

• Setting the throttles to TO/GA.

• Automatically at engine start.

• With engines running; pressing the A/THR p/b manually.

If a throttle is set between two detents; the FADEC selects the rating limit:

• Determined by the throttle position.

• Corresponding to the higher mode.

• Corresponding to the lower mode.

When the A/THR system is in use:

• The throttles move automatically according to FADEC commands.

• The throttles can only be moved manually.

• The throttles will move when the A/THR p/b is used.

A/THR engagement is confirmed when “A/THR” is displayed in the right column of the FMA.
