Imagine this: You spend three weeks in your room at night, teaching yourself how to edit video. You finally finish a 30 second digital animation. It has a song you composed, colors that you love, and a character you drew yourself. You post it to a small account. It gets 10 likes.
Two days later, a massive influencer with 5 million followers reposts your video. They don't tag you. They don't mention your name. In fact, they put a caption over it that says, "Check out this cool edit I created!"
The video gets 2 million likes. People are commenting, "You're so talented," and, "How did you make this," to the influencer. The influencer just replies with a heart emoji.
How would this make you feel?

THINK IT:
AI is the Tool, Not the Talent
AI is like a calculator. A calculator can do math, but it doesn't know why it's doing math.
Use AI to brainstorm, but ensure the final product reflects YOU.
Example: If AI writes your whole essay, did you "Think" it? No, you just ordered it like a pizza.

LINK IT:
Show Your Work
Be transparent. If you used ChatGPT for an outline or for a background, say so.
Adhere to the rules of your teacher and school/workplace.
How to do it: Create a "Process Note" at the end of assignments. "I used AI to help me organize my thoughts, but the arguments are mine.""

List one method of ensuring that you give credit to the source you used to help you complete your work.

CREDIT IT:
Respect the Humans
AI "hallucinates" and "remixes." It was trained on millions of real human artists who didn't always say "Yes" to being used.
If you hear an "AI Drake" song, remember that the real Drake (and his writers/producers) did the hard work of building that sound.
Question: Is it fair to the person whose job is a graphic designer if we just use AI for free?
It's fair if we use AI for inspiration, but it becomes unfair when we try to pass off AI work as "human-made" to avoid paying someone for their skill.

Multiple Select

When Using AI:

Example: "I created the image of the landform using Google Gemini."
From Social Media (sharing or reposting):
Format: This idea came from ________. I am reposting this from __________.
Example: "_________ created the original video, and I am gaining inspiration from that!"
