Why do people use ethos, pathos, and logos?

• They help people determine what they care about.

• They help persuade people to believe an argument.

Ethos is when you persuade by having people believe you are...

• logical and rational.

• trustworthy and knowledgeable.

• emotional and caring.

• helpful and kind.

How can you use pathos and evoke emotions in your writing?

• Make sure your spelling and grammar are correct to increase your credibility with the reader.

• Play a happy or sad song for yourself while writing.

• Use intentionally impactful adjectives and verbs.

• Make sure to have a clear assertion or thesis.
