Max Bill, a prominent figure of the Bauhaus movement, significantly influenced Brazilian concretism. His first exhibition in Brazil was in 1951 at Masp. Due to customs issues, his sculptures remained in São Paulo, leading him to represent Switzerland at the first Bienal, where his work 'Unidade Tripartida' won a sculpture award. This piece inspired the Brazilian art group Ruptura. In 2013, 'Unidade Tripartida' was showcased at the 55th Venice Biennale.
