Tycho Brahe, a 16th-century Danish noble, defied the stereotype of a boring scientist. Kidnapped by his uncle, he shifted from law to astronomy after witnessing a solar eclipse. Known for his accurate celestial observations, Tycho's life was marked by a duel that cost him part of his nose, leading to a prosthetic. His discovery of a new star earned him fame, and he built the Uraniborg observatory on a Danish island. After a fallout with the Danish king, he moved to Prague, working with Johannes Kepler. Tycho's death from a bladder infection remains mysterious, with high mercury levels found in his remains.
