Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, known as the father of the Indian Constitution, was a prominent figure in India's history. Originally named Ambawadekar, his surname was changed by his teacher. He was the first Indian to earn a doctorate in economics abroad and played a key role in establishing the Reserve Bank of India. Ambedkar was instrumental in reducing working hours in India and served as the first law minister. He opposed Article 370 and advocated for women's rights. He founded the Independent Labour Party and converted to Buddhism shortly before his death in 1956.
