What does this statement by Elliot Feldman mean? "His story is what has changed a lot of people, the way they think, the way they act. You need to know it to understand and to keep it from happening to future generations."

How can remembering the Holocaust prevent antisemitism from happening to future generations? Can this type of hatred happen to other groups of people as well? How can it be prevented?
