In the late 2010s, scientists discovered that what was thought to be one species of electric eel is actually three, including Volta's electric eels, which can grow over two meters long and deliver an 860-volt shock. These eels can hunt in packs, using their electric organs to stun prey. Researchers found a lake in Brazil where eels hunt cooperatively, driving fish into tight balls and delivering massive shocks. There are still many questions about their behavior, including how they coordinate and communicate. The video also promotes the 'Music for Scientists' album.
