On June 24, 2003, storm chaser Tim Samaras and his team venture into tornado alley to deploy scientific probes in the path of a tornado. As they approach a massive thundercloud, a funnel begins to form, but road challenges hinder their progress. Despite the risks, Tim successfully deploys several probes to collect data on wind speed and barometric pressure. The team faces a dangerous encounter as the tornado closes in, but they manage to escape unharmed as the twister veers away at the last moment.
