Margaret Brown, known as 'The Unsinkable Molly Brown', was a Titanic survivor who advocated for returning to rescue others but was overruled. She was not called to testify at the Titanic hearings due to her gender. Brown was a pioneer for women's rights, running for the US Senate before women could vote, and worked for labor rights and war recovery in France. She received the Legion of Honor in 1932. Her legend grew posthumously through a biography and adaptations in Broadway and film.
