Force Equation "Magic Triangle"

Before watching the video, draw the division (➗) and multiplication (✖️) symbols on your triangle using a colored pencil.

Given the equation Force= (mass) (acceleration), How do we know to place mass and acceleration at the BOTTOM of the magic triangle?

• Acceleration is placed at the top because it is more important.
• The parenthesis in the equation mean we are multiplying, and the only location on the triangle where mass and acceleration can be placed next to each other to multiply is at the bottom.

• Mass is always greater than acceleration, so we write it first.

• Mass and acceleration are being divided to find force, so they go next to each other.
